It would seem that the game that redefined the horror-survival genre just won't die. Thankfully, that's no bad thing.
Having reduced a generation of gamers to sweaty-palmed terror in 1996, Resident Evil proceeded to haunt video game charts with its tweaked Directors Cut and DualShock reissues, before unleashing its zombies on GameCube owners with a 2002 remake.
Now, after shipping 61 million copies, its the turn of the current crop of 'next-gen' consoles to join the ranks of the infected, in glorious HD. Capcom has shown off the first trailer for its remastered remake and it's exactly what you were hoping for: camp, bloodied and genuinely terrifying.
Set to arrive in 'early 2015', we'd expect it to coincide with the arrival of the recently announced Resident Evil: Revelations 2. Grab a pillow/shotgun and check out the trailer below.
