No, they're not making a film based around the revolving chairs of the BBC reality show. It's something far more strange altogether.
The Voices follows the mundane life of Jerry (Ryan Reynolds), a timid recluse who grinds his way through a nine-to-five at the local bathtub factory. Woefully inept, his court appointed psychiatrist nudges him to pursue his office crush (Gemma Arterton), who shares his love for domestic pets. Except Jerry's pets talk to him.
Guided by the sinister mutterings of his cat and the restrained benevolence of his dog (both voiced by Reynolds), Jerry struggles to navigate his way back to normality after a casual date becomes an unlikely murder. The cat told him to do it.
Psychotic and quirky, The Voices is something between a horror romance. And no, it's nothing like Doctor Dolittle.
The Voices arrives in cinemas on 20 March
