Bungie is teasing us. Not content with leaving doors ajar and treats out of reach for the Destiny Beta, the latest trailers for their vast, planet-hopping game present tantalising glimpses of entire planets we've got to wait weeks to explore.
Mars and Venus join the game's terra firma of Earth and the Moon, both filled with their own gorgeous vistas and grizzled locals.
Red dunes and scattered ruins populate the mysterious world of Mars, a mysterious force known as the Cabal lying under the shifting sands. While huge, the Cabal appear supremely agile thanks to their armoured jet packs. In contrast, Venus is a lush paradise - the site of a great discovery now overrun with hostile forces.
Destiny arrives on 9 September 2014 - which can't come quickly enough

As Content Director of Shortlist, Marc likes nothing more than to compile endless lists of an evening by candlelight. He started out life as a movie writer for numerous (now defunct) magazines and soon found himself online - editing a gaggle of gadget sites, including TechRadar, Digital Camera World and Tom's Guide UK. At Shortlist you'll find him mostly writing about movies and tech, so no change there then.
