It’s hard to inject much humour into a story about slaughtered family members and the end of civilisation. Hard, but not impossible. Which is where Danny Wallace came in for Assassin’s Creed II.
His sarcastic historian Shaun Hastings was so popular, he’s understandably being brought back for soon-to-be-released sequel Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood. And the director was so impressed with Danny’s performance first time round, he decided he didn’t need to bother coming all the way to London to oversee the recording sessions.
But it wasn’t just a case of standing in a booth and saying the lines. To ensure the characters look just like their real life counterparts, Danny’s face was filmed as he was being recorded, so the animators could match his facial expressions to Shaun Hasting’s.
And it appears to have worked a treat, as these exclusive images show.
Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood is release on Xbox 360 and PS3 on 19 November
