Another day, another TV show based on a movie emerges. But with shows such as Fargo and Hannibal currently impressing viewers and critics, is this a trend that's worth sticking with?
NBC has unveiled their first look at Constantine, based on the Keanu Reeves movie and, of course, the DC character, and it's giving us a definite Buffy vibe. Which could be a good or a bad thing.
Firstly, it's worth noting that it looks slightly more loyal to the comic, at least in its portrayal of the lead character, who is now actually blonde and British. Secondly, the effects don't look too bad for a TV show. But finally, is the dark tone and graphic content of the comic going to suit network TV restrictions?
The show stars Matt Ryan as John Constantine, best known for Criminal Minds and Lucy Griffiths, of True Blood fame. It will also be directed by The Descent's Neil Marshall which bodes well.
Take a look below.
