Brockwell Lido has been saved from closure by no less than Lambeth council.
Heading to a lido in the summer months is one our top recommendations for Londoners, but in recent times the future of the iconic Brockwell Lido has looked entirely uncertain.
The South London lido was being run by Fusion Lifestyle, which went into administration on April 1st, causing Lambeth council to step in to secure the place’s future.
From July 1st the council will take over operations of Brockwell Lido. The site was already owned by the council, but it was run by Fusion Lifestyle, which entered administration after a “prolonged period of financial difficulty.”
Not all of the sites Fusion Lifestyle ran are quite as lucky as Brockwell Lido. The closure of Golden Lane Sports and Fitness Centre nearby Barbican has been confirmed for April 30th, while the fates some of Fusion Lifestyle’s other sites are as yet unknown.
While many of you may only consider a dip in Brockwell Lido during the warmer months, it actually stays open year-round. And you can get regular updates on the pool temperature in those less temperate times over at the lido’s Instagram page.
For now, the Fusion Lifestyle website is still the home of Brockwell Lido’s schedule, although at the time of writing the booking portal appears to be a dead link. You’ll have to rock up to the site itself to gain entry at present.

Recently, Brockwell Lido advertised its summer season pass, which for £265 grants you access daily from April 1st through to September 30th. At present it’s unclear exactly how you get hold of this pass, though.
If you have already stumped up for a lido membership, the council insists those will continue to remain valid, with further details due before the full operational switchover.
From 1st July, Brockwell Lido will be fully run under the council’s Active Lambeth organisation. This currently operates eight sites across South London, including Brixton Recreation Centre and Clapham Leisure Centre.
It offers a fistful of different membership options based on your home site, but a Borough-wide one costs up to £90.45 a month, or £45.10 for swimming facilities only.
Other notable lidos in London include those at Parliament Hill, Hampstead Heath and London Fields, should you want to mix it up as the weather gets warmer in 2026.
