The ShortListen: Bry (no. 292)

Who? Bry

What’s the story? Bry is a 26-year-old Dubliner who is seemingly a pretty big deal on YouTube. But wait - before you run a mile from bad bedroom covers of top 10 tracks (although, hands up, he does do these, albeit well) - he's actually good. Don't Go Alone is the first single from his forthcoming debut album, recorded with the hugely-successful Canadian producer Greg Wells, and it's a seriously classy slice of indie-pop, calling to mind later Idlewild, as well as Snow Patrol - perhaps unsurprisingly, given that he is signed to their Polar Patrol publishing company. This is a very promising start.

For fans of: Idlewild, Snow Patrol, Keane

In three words: Classy anthemic indie-pop
