An Uzbekistani chap by the name of Jamshid Turaev has just stuck two middle fingers up at the fitness community.
The 37-year-old law graduate and gym nut – who was already the holder of the record for the most rear pull-ups performed in one minute (23) – has just added an even more ridiculous achievement to his CV, by breaking the Guinness World Record for the most two-finger pull-ups completed in one minute.
With only the middle fingers from each hand hooked around two loops welded onto a pull-up bar, Turaev managed to lift his chin up and over the bar an incredible 19 times. (Not even counting the 6 reps he completed that “breached the Guinness World Records guidelines”.)
The record was broken yesterday in the less than glamorous surroundings of a fitness club in Limassol, Cyprus, and will surely stand for years to come – who else would be mad enough to replicate the five years’ worth of training Turaev put in specifically to complete this challenge?
Go on, pull your finger out and give it a go.
