Now here is a sweet idea.
McDonald's in South Korea is making Honey Butter Fries available for a short period only.
Restaurants in the country are responding to a sensation from last autumn, when South Korean gourmands went all kinds of crazy for Honey Butter Chips - a new line of crisps developed by confectionary company Haitai.
According to Kotaku, stores sold out of these eccentrically-flavoured crisps, which prompted extreme queuing from desperate snack-fans. In some cases, customers were restricted to buying one packet each, such was the demand. A handful of wily opportunists even took to selling the crisps on eBay, where they went for double the retail price.
Seriously, this is the world we live in.
Anyway, McDonald's has made the logical decision to try and cash in on this phenomenon, by developing its own range of Honey Butter Fries. The special chips were made available this weekend just passed, and will only be on sale until March 8th. Let's hope there isn't a riot when they're discontinued.
