John Oliver's response to Brexit is proof he should be the new Prime Minister

John Oliver wasn’t exactly shy of an opinion as to which way the UK should vote in the recent EU Referendum. So much so that Sky Atlantic didn’t even run his segment before the big night in case it broke Ofcom’s impartiality guidelines.

So in the face of the results we’re just glad to see the British host has lost none of his humour discussing the consequences on his HBO show Last Week Tonight - nor his bite.

Comparing the bittersweet feeling of David Cameron having to resign over the fiasco to catching an ice cream cone out of the air because a child was hit by a car (“I’ll eat it but it’s tainted somehow"), the comic also went on to slam “three-time cover model for Punchable Face Magazine” Nigel Farage and “shaved orangutan with Owen Wilson’s hair” Boris Johnson, pinpointing the pair’s misuse of the term “Independence Day”, given a) Britain was already independent, and b) countries usually celebrate taking it back from us.

It's a take down of the highest order, even managing to get a gag about pig f*ckery in there without sounding crass.

Can Oliver be our next Prime Minister, please?
