Ok, so while we had no idea what was going on during the actual game, all the razzle dazzle which fell between large sweaty men in tight Lycra and pads knocking seven bells out of one another, including Coldplay’s half-time show, was true blockbuster stuff.
No more so than the ads though, which saw Hollywood marketing teams treat US viewers to an eyeful of this year’s biggest films including the return of Jason Bourne, and sequels for Cloverfield, Independence Day and Captain America. So lot's of cities being blown to smithereens.
Costing roughly $5m per 30 seconds, the ad slots don’t come cheap, but we guess that explains all the shameless product placement they cram in. We’re looking at you Batman V Superman...
