Mad Max: Fury Road
Our latest eyeful of next summer's blockbuster delivers a flurry of spectacular sand-baked action from the film, mostly involving torn, twisted and violently designed vehicles akin to those of the original films, only matched for menace by the bandits driving them.
Rather than a reliance on CGI, it’s great to see some old fashioned slow-motion set-pieces, helping make the transition between the beloved originals and this big budget modern reboot all the more seamless.
Written and directed by franchise founder George Miller, it stars Tom Hardy as the nomadic widower seeking peace of mind after his wife and child are killed. And it seems the madcap themes of the original have pushed their way to the fore here (see: Nicholas Hoult's howling stitched up oddball).
