Stephen King It Remake Imminent

It's been rumoured for a while, but it looks like the long-awaited remake of Stephen King's classic It is going to happen sooner rather than later.

Director Cary Fukunaga (Sin Nombre/Jane Eyre/True Detective) will be in the director's hotseat, seemingly as soon as he is finished on his current project, Beasts of No Nation, a low-budget movie starring Idris Elba.

Producer Dan Lin (Sherlock Holmes), speaking to Collider, said "Cary Fukunaga is writing and directing Stephen King’s It for me, and I’m really excited for that. So I’m hoping that’ll be his next movie after the indie he’s shooting in Africa. I love what he did with True Detective. I think it’s a great sample for Stephen King’s It. So I’m really excited about that".

There are additional reports that the project could be split across two films - will it be twice the fun? And twice the terror? We shall soon see.
