Mario with realistic sound effects

mario-hero2.jpg

The old school arcade tones of Nintendo’s Super Mario Bros are reminiscent of those golden years of 2D gaming. In our pursuit for all things cool and retro we stumbled upon a video of Mario with a real life twist. By replacing the ‘bleeps’ and ‘blips’ of the game with real-life sound effects one fan has transformed the game into a funky (yeah we used then word 'funky') viral video.

Instead of the ‘wah wah wah’ expect to hear ‘burp’ ‘humph’ ‘argh’! We are sure he spent far too much time putting it together, but we are grateful that he did and that he decided to share it with us.

When was the last time you dragged out that old Sega Mega Drive from under the bed and spend the whole weekend regressing back to when you were 14? Too long ago? Well, let this fan’s tribute to Mario be an inspiration to us all.

Enjoyed that? Check out this brilliant infographic featuring the many deaths of the world's most famous plumber.
