Apple's new iOS update will probably break your iPhone

Apple's latest iOS 9.3 update had been rolling out smoothly since it's launch last week - but something rotten has been discovered at its core. 

After downloading the new update, many Apple users running iPhone 5S handsets and iPad Air tablets began reporting that the new iOS was making their devices unusable. Apple quickly responded to the issue, that centred around an error in the authentication process.

The bad Apple seemed to have been discarded from the bushel - but now another, more widespread issue has been discovered: the new system makes Safari almost unusable. 

A quick scroll through the latest Tweets of the @AppleSupport account indicates an avalanche of complaints that outline a similar issue: opening links to web pages can cause Safari to freeze. 

The issue isn't limited to browsing links in Safari, but occurs if a link is sent via a text, email or written in Notes. Even opening links from some new apps seems to break Safari.

So what should I do?

If you haven't updated to the new iOS 9.3, the best practice is to wait. Apple is already pushing out a new version of the iOS, but we recommend giving it a few days before updating your devices.

For those who have already downloaded the new iOS 9.3 and are currently having issues with it - Apple is yet to issue an official fix. You might want to stick to using a different browser, such as Chrome, but you're going to have to type in links manually, or copy them over to the Chrome browser.
