NISSAN ZEOD RC ELECTRIC RACER

STATS

Top speed: 186mph

Powered by: Lithium-ion batteries

Price: TBC

PEGG: First impressions? It looks like Will Smith.

FROST: It won’t be able to complete the Le Mans race on a single charge…

PEGG: I’ve seen this on Joe 90. Yes, to me it looks like a spaceship and it would be fine if we could fly it, but we don’t have that technology yet.

FROST: What puts me off electric cars is the sound – I like to hear my engine roar.

PEGG: Do they tune them to make the noise of a proper car? Does it go like this? [Both emit a high-pitched scream] “Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!”

ASTON MARTIN VANQUISH VOLANTE

STATS

Top speed: 183mph

Powered by: 5.9-litre V12 engine, 565bhp

Price: £199,995

PEGG: It goes like sh*t off a shovel and looks lovely on the outside. Far too many cars these days look too futuristic, but this is classic. My only concern is the double denim interior.

FROST: But you don’t have to have that interior, right? It looks a bit like the new Jaguar, which is also beautiful. I’d have to hear [the engine] first, though.
