‘Lord won’t you buy me a Mercedes Benz’, once queried a hopeful Janis Joplin.

Well you’d definitely need some sort of divine intervention for a chance of wrapping your hands around the wheel of the German brand’s latest car, the F 015 Luxury In Motion, freshly unveiled at the CES tech conference in Las Vegas.

Not that you’d be holding the wheel for very long. The F 015 has been built for a future where autonomous driving is common place. Once this mode is activated, four seats swivel around and let passengers enjoy a first-class cabin like interior, scattered with all manner of gizmos including gesture and eye-tracking LED screens mounted on reader and side panels.

Designed to cope with congestions around crowded urban metropolises, it’s essentially a hub away from all the bumper-to-bumper chaos outside, not to mention various virtual landscapes displays ensuring you don’t have to see another Pret A Manager from your window for the millionth time.

There’s also plenty of power to go with the Moon Lander looks, running on a hydrogen fuel cell, which, fully charged, should able to travel up to an estimated range of 600 miles if on the road by 2030.

Giving you more than enough time to sit back and enjoy another viewing of The Expendables 7.
