Dubai To Build World's Largest Twinned Skyscraper

Continuing its efforts to reach the moon with cement, Dubai has now announced plans for the world’s tallest twinned skyscrapers. Because of course it has.

The beneficiary of this pair of glass cloud toppers will be Dubai’s planned 6m square-metre Creek Harbour, which developers Emaar Properties and Dubai Holdings are aiming to be a bigger and more opulent draw for tourists and business people than the state's already notoriously lavish downtown area.

While no official height for the rocket-shaped buildings has yet been announced, only that they’ll be the tallest twinned towers on the planet, expect them to at least soar over 1,483ft, a height currently held by the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur.

With the proposed site a stone’s throw from the Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary, home to around 450 different species of animals, the middle to bottom floors should offer a good gawp-worthy gallery for that institution along with panoramic views of the marina. As for the views from the top floors, we hope you like looking at sand.

No date has been confirmed for construction, but then the Death Star wasn't built in a day, was it?
