The ShortListen: Xylaroo (no. 320)

Who? Xylaroo

What’s the story? Maidstone via Papua New Guinea, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Switzerland. It’s fair to say sisters Holly and Coco Chant - otherwise known as Xylaroo, who you may know for their infectious single Sunshine and B-side cover of I Bet You Look Good On the Dancefloor - have moved around a bit. Though judging by their latest track, On My Way, which we're premiering exclusively on The ShortListen, you could be forgiven for thinking they spent their formative years living on a Texas ranch: bouncier than a ride in the back of a pickup going through a cornfield, it's utterly joyous, with brilliant melodies and michevious lyrics not a million miles from Edward & Sharpe & Magnetic Zeros’ Home. Probably a couple of thousand at most.

For fans of: Dolly Parton, Edward Sharpe & Magnetic Zeros

In three words:  New road-trip anthem
