Mr John Martin Maher - or Johnny Marr to his millions of fans around the world - is nothing less than a god of guitar playing.

It also turns out he can lend his talents to vocals too, as evidenced on his critically-acclaimed debut solo record The Messenger, which went Top 10 upon its release earlier this year.

Hot on the heels of a series of supports with The Stone Roses, Johnny releases his new single, New Town Velocity, and we've been lucky enough to get access to world exclusive images from the accompanying video.

Shot in his native Manchester, specifically in the Wythenshawe council estate where he grew up, as well as other locations around the city, the video is apparently inspired by the psychogeography philosophy of the Situationist Movement. It also just looks really cool.

We'll have an exclusive teaser from the video tomorrow (Tuesday July 16), so be sure to check back then.
