ShortList reader gets to meet Cruise after landing VIP prize

Imagine being whisked off to a film premiere and meeting Tom Cruise. It’s the stuff of dreams. Nicola Hawley managed to pull off the experience of a lifetime when she entered and won the incredible Oblivion competition.

Nicola from Yorskhire enjoyed the high life, being flown to Dublin from Farnborough by private jet, enjoying a stay in a five-star hotel, taking in a shopping spree, before the main event – the premiere of Cruise’s latest blockbuster, Oblivion. There, she got to meet one of cinema’s biggest and best-ever stars, Cruise himself, before enjoying the film.

“Tom Cruise came into the room and came straight over to us and started chatting telling us he had been to the Guinness factory and poured himself a pint,” said a thoroughly delighted Nicola. “I was a little star-struck. My sister and I were the first to have our photos taken, and it was amazing just to be so close to him. He was really lovely.

She added: “After everyone had had their photos taken I went back towards him and pointed to my cheek and mouthed can I have a kiss, he said I will do better than that I will give you two and proceeded to kiss me on both cheeks.”

Cruise very much proving that the great man has still got it.
