Twitter account Photoshops retro kids’ books to give them the titles they deserve

In the 90s, you really could judge a book by its cover – the illustrations fronting kids’ paperbacks always provided entirely literal representations of the stories within.

It was the titles you couldn’t trust.

But now a parody Twitter account going by the name of Paperback Paradise has set out to remedy this inconsistency, using Photoshop to give retro children’s books the names they look like they should have had all along.

Here are a few of the finest examples.

Little Obie And The Flood  becomes...

Outcast  becomes...

Hunted In The Alaskan Wilderness  becomes...

The War With Grandpa  becomes...

Island Dreamer  becomes...

The Ghost In My Closet  becomes...

Elizabeth, The Tattletale  becomes...

First A Dream  becomes...

A Pony For Keeps  becomes...

Operation Black Fang  becomes...

Stretching The Truth  becomes...

Friends 'Til The Ocean Waves  becomes...

A Heart Full Of Hope  becomes...
