Was there a standout moment of 2011 for you?

Yeah, I directed a short film [This Is Not A Suit] that went to the Sundance Film Festival. I did a photography essay in Ghana. I hadn’t been there in 11 years. I shot all my family members. Now I’m opening my shop, The House A Sauvage, in 2012.

Do you have a new year’s resolution?

Not really. I just want to get on with it, keep it moving. But if I had to say something, roll necks. It’s all roll necks this year.

What are the three things you want to achieve this year?

Spend some time with my family. Health. Cut down on Kit-Kats. And… love.

Is there anyone you haven’t styled that you’d like to?

My dad. He’s in Ghana at the moment, and since I got my new collection up and running [Dress Easy], I made him a couple of pieces. When I look back on photos of him from the Seventies, he was doing what I’m doing now.

Do you think British fashion is breaking boundaries at present?

When I go to Paris, it’s remarkable how many British designers are heads of fashion houses. You have Kim Jones at Louis Vuitton, Phoebe Philo at Céline, and they’re at the forefront of fashion. I wouldn’t say “British fashion” — it’s fashion in general. They’re making a big impact.
