A smartphone these days can do pretty much anything. But what it can't do is broadcast a movie to an audience. Until now.
The Smartphone Projector is a cardboard device featuring a 10x magnifying lens and a grip for your phone to sit snugly in while it plays your favourite film. It can apparently "amplify sound and project powerful pictures" and costs just £15.95 from prezzybox.com.
We're going to go out a limb here and suggest that a screening of Laurence of Arabia using this device may not quite capture the majesty that its maker originally intended, but it'll probably be useful for showing cat videos to an appreciative audience.

As Content Director of Shortlist, Marc likes nothing more than to compile endless lists of an evening by candlelight. He started out life as a movie writer for numerous (now defunct) magazines and soon found himself online - editing a gaggle of gadget sites, including TechRadar, Digital Camera World and Tom's Guide UK. At Shortlist you'll find him mostly writing about movies and tech, so no change there then.
