Man's best friend is now a screen

Official: Computers Better Than Dogs

They've been loyal friends, they've fetched your paper every day, they've kept you company, they've learnt tricks to entertain you.

But it seems we're dog-tired of canines, and would rather hang out with K-9s instead. RAM has replaced Rover in our affections.

A YouGov poll has found that almost two thirds of us consider our computer to be a "more constant companion than a dog", with over two thirds believing that "most people rely more on their dog than they do on their PC".

Personally, we think a combination of both is best; after all, is there anything better than watching dogs on skateboards on YouTube?

And to celebrate the rare excuse to picture dogs with computers, we present above and below: a gallery of dogs with computers.

Content Director

As Content Director of Shortlist, Marc likes nothing more than to compile endless lists of an evening by candlelight. He started out life as a movie writer for numerous (now defunct) magazines and soon found himself online - editing a gaggle of gadget sites, including TechRadar, Digital Camera World and Tom's Guide UK. At Shortlist you'll find him mostly writing about movies and tech, so no change there then.
