The Marc Jacobs Hawaiian shirt

marcj.jpg

There are fashion trends that operate under the radar, only embraced by a small group of opinion leaders.

And then there are those that unless you have been on sabbatical to Mongolia would be impossible to miss — skinny jeans tucked into work boots, for example.

One such trend that looks set to sweep through the UK this spring is the return of the retro Hawaiian shirt. One part Harry Truman at Camp David, one part Elvis Presley in Blue Hawaii, it can be worn with vintage military basics, such as khaki.

One of the best out there on My-wardrobe.com is this shirt from the designer diffusion line Marc By Marc Jacobs. Available in ‘Martini Olive’ (shown) and ‘Petrol Blue’, there are also swim shorts (£125), tote bags (£55) and a rucksack (£70) available in the same print.
