Alternative Gangster Squad Posters

Anything Hollywood can do, independent designers can do better. Okay so it might not work quite so well as a lyric, but it’s an increasingly spot-on statement when it comes to the art of the movie poster.

To celebrate the release of noirish thriller Gangster Squad, 2013’s first must-see movie, we commissioned a group of rather talented chaps to design a set of alternative one-sheets. Utilising the 40s setting and the stellar cast (which includes Ryan Gosling, Sean Penn and Emma Stone), the eight designs can all be seen below.

Gangster Squad is released in cinemas on January 10th
