An Apollo Astronaut Reckons Aliens Helped Prevent Nuclear War

Edgar Mitchell

The sixth man to walk on the moon has come forward to claim that, not only have been visited by aliens, but that they're also on an interstellar peace mission.

Astronaut Edgar Mitchell, who was one of the moonwalkers on 1971's Apollo 14 mission recently spoke to the Mirror Online about information he has gathered from a number of US Air Force staff.

"My own experience talking to people has made it clear the ETs had been attempting to keep us from going to war and help create peace on Earth," said Mitchell, describing how alien craft had been spotted numerous times above the White Sands nuclear weapon testing area.  "White Sands was a testing ground for atomic weapons - and that’s what the extraterrestrials were interested in. They wanted to know about our military capabilities."

Cold War missile bases were also an area of apparent interest for UFO craft, with Mitchell claiming to have spoken to several officers who worked in such bases.

"They told me UFOs were frequently seen overhead and often disabled their missiles.

"Other officers from bases on the Pacific coast told me their [test] missiles were frequently shot down by alien spacecraft.

"There was a lot of activity in those days."

The claims certainly run against the grain of Hollywood depictions of UFO visitors, apparently fearing we might wipe ourselves off the planet before we become advanced enough to make contact with.

Or maybe they're just worried we'll ruin all our natural resources before they're able to send a sizeable invasion force?
