Hard livin’, guitar lickin’, more lives than the average household feline – the life of Keith Richards is nothing if colourful.

The music industry is packed with tales of his career, and now we’re about to hear some near-believable tales from the Rolling Stone himself.

Here’s the first trailer for new Netflix Original documentary Keith Richards: Under the Influence, giving fans unparalleled access to one of the world's greatest rock stars and taking us into his life as he tells all about the people and sounds that shaped his career.

The doc also looks beautifully shot and fairly haunting in vibe, suggesting there may be an emotional punch or two aside from the outrageous boozy annecdotes.

And yes, it is definitely a documentary - even though some of it might sound like it’s the work of pure fiction.

Keith Richards: Under the Influence arrives 18 September, only on Netflix
