Eddie Redmayne to Play Stephen Hawking

StephenEddie.jpg

Reports are emerging that Eddie Redmayne is to play the part of Stephen Hawking in a forthcoming biopic of the world-famous physicist.

Redmayne is fresh from the huge success of the big-screen Les Misérables adaptation and is thought to be pencilled in to portray Hawkins in Theory of Everything, which will focus on his early years and his relationship with first wife Jane Wilde - no news yet on who will perform that role.

Redmayne has already walked in Hawking's shoes to a point - he attended Trinity College, Cambridge as a student, while Hawking undertook his first postgraduate work at neighbouring Trinity Hall, before continuing his work in the University to this day. He underwent intensive singing lessons for his role in Les Mis - he should probably start getting out the Penguin Guide to Astrophysics and brushing up on his calculus quicksmart.
