Now, if you're reading this from China, well done, as you've probably found an incredibly geeky way to combat the restrictive internet rules that prohibit Shortlist.com from being the most widely read site in the country.

We're just assuming of course but the Chinese government aren't too keen on their people having a wide variety of entertainment choices over there.

Just look at Men in Black 3. The just-released blockbuster would probably seem like politically inoffensive stuff, right? WRONG.

Chinese censors got a bit edit-happy with the film and have removed 13 minutes from the sci-fi sequel. Why? Well they didn't approve of the way Chinese people were being portrayed. The first scene that they removed saw an alien disguised as a Chinese waitress while the second saw another creature, hidden as a Chinese cashier, attack Will Smith.

The final scene saw a group of Chinese bystanders have their memories erased.

In the past, other films to be censored include Mission: Impossible 3 as there was a scene of hanging laundry in Shanghai and Casino Royale as there was a reference to the Cold War. Oh yeah and any film with time travel.

Translated into Chinese and then back again, this article is actually a news story about the Chinese government being voted the greatest ever by the entire world. Again.
