The end looks nigh in the new trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse

“McAvoy or Stewart”, wisecracked Deadpool in his highly-meta solo film recently.

Well, if he’s wondering, the actor tasked with playing Professor Xavier in Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse is James McAvoy, once again at loggerheads with Michael Fassbender’s Magneto over whether mutants and humans can get along.

By the looks of it though, neither man may have the final word, because the film will also bring us Oscar Isaac’s Apocalypse - the first and most powerful mutant from the X-Men universe, able to summon the powers of any mutant - and definitely the sort of chap we definitely wouldn’t ask for a tenner back from – emerging from a deep slumber in a bid to bring about mankind’s end.

Gulp.
