First look at Tom Hanks as Walt Disney

walthanks.jpg

So Hollywood doesn't really want us to see this yet but Twitter does and, once again, Twitter has won.

We have our first look at Tom Hanks playing Walt Disney in upcoming drama Saving Mr. Banks which sounds like a major Oscar contender to us. The film follows Disney's 14-year effort to persuade P.L. Travers, the author of Mary Poppins, to sell the rights to the book.

Emma Thompson stars as Travers while support comes in the shape of Colin Farrell, Paul Giamatti and Jason Schwartzman.

Apparently, the film won't be focusing on the more, ahem, darker aspects of Disney's life and will revolve around the difficulties of making Mary Poppins, like Dick Van Dyke's epic battle with the English accent.

Saving Mr Banks will be released in January 2014
