Do not challenge hackers to destroy your life because they WILL destroy your life
04 March 2016

"I could have made you homeless and penniless... I have control of your digital life in its entirety."

This is the terrifying level of control that journalist Kevin Roose invited on himself when he asked hacker Dan Tentler to "do his worst".

From gaining access to the account in which Roose stored all his passwords, to accessing his bank account, obtaining his social security number, controlling his email - there wasn't a corner of Roose's digital life that Tentler wasn't able to control within a few days of being invited to 'hack' Roose's life. He was even able to remotely control the web cam of his laptop, taking photos of him every two minutes without his knowledge.

For an idea of just how much control a hacker can have over your life, we urge you to watch Roose's recent episode of Real Future for YouTube channel Fusion

Not only might it help you not to get caught out in future, it should help you understand just how much of your life you really store online.
