"Want to come round with a take away and play video games all night?" This is as much of an incentive we need to embark on a gaming marathon. Imagine our fevered excitement when the invitation is offered by Will Ferrell.

Far from looking to improve his Call of Duty K/D ratio, the star has made the commendable decision to exploit his comic infamy to help fight cancer. He's asking gamers to donate for the chance to play games with him in San Francisco on 26 October, with the entire session to be broadcast live on Twitch (the gaming equivalent of Live YouTube).

For a chance to game with Ferrell, prospective players must donate $10 (about £6) to be included in the sweepstake draw. Various incentives are offered for larger donations, including Will Ferrell's SuperMegaUVBlastMax Gamer's Sunscreen, signed SuperMegaBlastMax Cowbell and even a personalised video message from the man himself. The event will go ahead if the campaign manages to raise $375,000 for the Cancer for College and DonateGames.org groups.

Check out his invitation below, and be sure to head over to the appropriately titled WillFerrellHatesCancer.org website to find out more.
