Snake resurrected for the smartphone generation

Around the mid '90s, there was a digit of greater significance than your phone number, age or National Insurance code.

Your SNAKE high score. A string of numbers to which the average man attached such pride that he'd be forgiven for putting it on his CV. And the good news is, you won't have to keep fishing out your 8210 for a nostalgic blast much longer.

From 14 May, Snake Rewind is set to dominate your thumbs when it brings the magic of the classic title to a new generation of smartphones.

Created by the Taneli Armanto, the man behind the original game, and Rumilus DesignSnake Rewind will - as hinted - allow players to rewind their snake after they've crash, giving you an extra chance to reach that tantalising prospect of completely filling your screen with twisting pixels. There's also a bunch of new fancy effects and level options - but you can tone all these down if you just want to game like it's 1999.

Just remember not to miss your stop on the bus, okay?
