Nissan Concept 2020 Vision For Gran Turismo

Gran Turismo 6 is causing something of a stir in the world of supercar design.

To supply its legions of players some new driving delights, PlayStation's legendary racing title has been on the hunt for new, exclusive dream wheels. Rather than simulating more real-world cars, the title has been inviting a variety of manufacturers to create dream concept cars for the game's virtual tracks. A few weeks ago Volkswagen unveiled the GTI Roadster - a jumped-up iteration of their beloved Golf GTI. They'd loved the design so much that they even built one for real.

Now it's the turn of Nissan to get in on the act. This glorious beast is the (hideously named) Concept 2020 Vision Gran Turismo. While the virtual car arrives on Gran Turismo 6, a physical model is rumoured to be arriving at this month's Goodwood Festival of Speed.

But that's not all. Dreamt up by a team of young designers at Nissan Design Europe’s London base, the two by two seater supercar design was so striking that it caught the attention of an advanced engineering team at the Nissan Technical Centre in Japan. Given their involvement with the project, aspects of the 2020 concept could well be appearing on the next GT-R due in to roll out in 2017.

While we wait for the car to become playable in July, we'll have to make do with the following teaser trailer.
