New Kim Jong-Un Game On App Store

New Kim Jong-Un Game On App Store

New Kim Jong-Un Game On App Store
12 February 2015

Kim on, this is just getting silly now.

The latest parody to bate North Korea and its great leader has touched down on Apple's App Store, filled with uninspired snark and addictive gameplay.

Little Dictator (no relation to the cancelled Kickstarter project Glorious Leader!) sees Kim Jong-un star in his very own Flappy Bird clone title: sitting astride a missile, players must tap to guide Kim from Pyongyang to the West through a series of warhead obstacles, scoring points for the distance covered. Possible power-ups to collect en route include Father's Golf Clubs, Gop Hackers and Double Rainbows, all drawing on bizarre instalments from North Korea's media legacy.

Initially rejected by the App Store on grounds of breaking its guidelines concerning apps that are openly "defamatory, offensive, mean-spirited, or likely to place the targeted individual or group in harm’s way", Little Dictator's creator Built Games has managed to resolve some issues Apple had with the original build of the app. Rather than being "mean-spirited", the app has been created as a parody - though we all know how well that went down with The Interview

Little Dictator joins a growing list of North Korean parody titles: in addition to the cancelled Glorious Leader!, the rather more sinister Joyful Executions fell foul of the App Store rules last year, while Kim Jong Golf has been growing in popularity.

You can download Little Dictator for free on both iOS and Android. But don't blame us if you're then the subject of a lengthy hacking scandal, okay?
