If that's your kinda thinking, then you'll be thrilled to hear that board game heavy weights Hasbro have teamed up with video game giant Ubisoft to produce next-gen console games based on franchises including Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit, Risk, Battleship and Cranium.
The deal brings to an end Hasbro's former sponsored_longform with Electronic Arts, and could pave the way for interesting geektastic titles involving the hugely popular Magic: The Gathering and the infamous Dungeons and Dragons.
According to a statement issued by Hasbro's senior vice president and general manager Mark Blecher, the company "look forward to collaborating with Ubisoft to offer consumers innovative new ways to experience their favourite gaming brands. Ubisoft’s leadership and expertise in the console gaming space will help support Hasbro’s strategy of bringing consumers engaging play experiences with our brands across multiple platforms."
For all your current board gaming needs, you're going to have to endure the company of friends and family members for a little while longer.
