You can keep your star on the Hollywood Boulevard, Golden Disc and Hall of Fame entry. The real accolade that signifies you've reached the marble-lined levels of pop culture status is getting your face all over a Monopoly board.

The latest name to be added to this elite circle? Final Fantasy VII

No, we don't know why either.

The officially licensed product is currently listed on Merchoid, which gives the game the following description:

"Delve into the evolving city of Midgar in search of the latest business opportunities. Perhaps you’ll buy up a string of plots for housing development for the people, or go industrial and build a Mako reactor plant."

We didn't realise that one of the greatest role-playing games of all time had so much in common with a board game version of capitalism, but there you go.

There's no word on which characters will make the cut, though apparently Cloud, Sephiroth and Aaerith are all a sure bet. It'll cost you £34.99 and arrive on 14 April 2017.

We've contacted Monopoly to see if we can get a ShortList version in the works. They've ignored our emails so far, but it's only a matter of time...
