11 June 2013

This year's E3 is huge. With Sony and Microsoft releasing new hardware for the first time in nearly eight years (and Nintendo waving madly for attention), gamers are chomping at the proverbial bit at the prospect of shinier surfaces, more detailed textures and flashier lens flare. Here are our favourite launch trailers (s0 far) for the games you should be getting excited about.

Halo

Well, no one was expecting the Master Chief to turn up in a poncho. The sand looks lovely. Doesn't the sand look lovely? Great sand. That's all we've got.

Forza Motorsport 5

Forget having real flesh-and-blood mates, gamers are all about "Cloud-powered opponents" these days. Some of our best friends are clouds.

Assassin's Creed IV

Yar har har. Here be blades and runnin' about with pointy things. Yo ho ho n'... you get the idea.

Grand Turismo 6

A new physics engine?! A new tire (tyre) model!? A new suspension model! STOP MAKING IT BORING.

Killzone: Shadow Fall

Watch out for falling shadows. Whatever those are.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2

Sir Patrick Stewart voicing Dracula? Where do we sign...

Final Fantasy XV

Final Fantasy... XV? That's 15 yes? That's so many.

Pikmin 3

A Pegi 3 rating? Because a two-year-old would lose their sh*t over flower combat.

Mario Kart 8

This looks super fun, helped massively by the seemingly endless variety of ways in which characters can say "Yay!".

Super Mario 3D World

We hope this is as good as Super Mario 64 probably as much as Nintendo do. You get to turn Mario into a cat! They know their audience.

Batman: Arkham Origins

The Bat's back, with a gadgets, batplanes and gruff one liners.
