Watch this robot solve a Rubik's Cube in one second


For us? About a week.

For Lucas Etter? 4.904 seconds (the human Rubik's Cube record holder). 

For this ungainly robot? Between one and 1.2 seconds.

The creation of software engineers Jay Flatland and Paul Rose, this robot scans a cube with web cams before working out the exact moves it needs to perform in order to complete it.

There's one important caveat: the robot can only solve cubes that have had special holes drilled into it to provide grip.

We wonder if they could make one to solve this monster...
