Tag Heuer makes its first foray into the tech world with predictably impressive results.

Step with us into a world of expensive cutlery, ocean-going luxo-barges and non-stop gin-tipping. A world in which nobody has ever been Rickrolled, and the iPhone is considered common. You are now in the world of the

Tag Heuer Link: a precision-engineered mobile phone crafted by the Swiss watchmaker. Billed as “The first touchscreen luxury phone”, it runs up-to-the-minute Android and — unlike rival luxury phones — has all the tech accoutrements a businessman could wish for.

  • There’s equal substance to match the style. The 1GHz processor will power through the 250,000 available apps, while the battery life goes toe to toe with the iPhone.
  • Depending on the depth of your pockets, there is an array of finishes to choose from: calfskin, alligator, titanium, gold, rubber, carbon fibre-style leather and — most intriguingly — lizard.
  • A twist of the watch-like crown, and the door to the Sim card tray and connection port springs open — a bit like the back of an Edwardian pocket watch.
  • The Link has a 3.5in Gorilla Glass touchscreen, it runs Android 2.2 and is engineered in Switzerland, then assembled by hand in France.
