Tesla needs to slow down.
First they built an electric sports car, and everyone got excited about the future. Then they made an electric family car, and again, consumers made positive mutterings as they handed over their cash. Engineering and automotive awards stacked up, and Elon Musk (their founder) started making insane claims about automatic chargers that looked like 'metal snakes'.
"Sure Elon, whatever you say!", we chuckled, pandering to his eccentric, millionaire-inventor charms.
Then he went and made it. The future is happening too quickly.
There are two responses to this demonstration of Tesla's automatic charging arm. One is to regard its serpentine movements and apparent intelligence as a reason to unplug everything in your home, bolt the door and await the rise of the machines.
The other is to watch the video again, but with this track playing in the background.
Not so scary now, is it?
