Piracy in Africa is no laughing matter. Which makes our above comment about Jack Sparrow completely insensitive.

In the war against pirates, a new weapon has been unveiled and it looks a bit like something you may have received for your 10th birthday.

The remote-controlled helicopter has been designed to help track criminals who work off the Horn of Africa, as well as help patrol streets in the US. It might just be seven foot long and weigh 49lbs but can fire tasers, grenades and shotgun shells.

Just to further differentiate it from your childhood version, it can also reach speeds of up to 70mph and can record footage of wrongdoers.

You can see it in action below. We should probably warn you that no-one gets shot or exploded however. If you still want to watch then go ahead...
