Amazing air keyboard concept

The future has disappointed us. Sure, the internet has got a bit faster and phones now do a lot more pointless things than they used to - but where are the flying cars we were promised? The hoverboards? The jetpacks? We've been thumping the same keyboards for more than a century, something needs to change! That's why we like the idea of AirType.

Answering the call of tablet users and those strange people who write full emails on their phones, AirType is the keyboardless keyboard concept we've all been secretly longing for.

Rather than projecting holograms or reading your brain, AirType works (in theory) by sliding two clips over the back of your hands. After a few practices, the AirType system will learn what buttons you're aiming for - allowing you to touch-type on any surface, or even in mid-air, without a keyboard in sight. A partnering app with dynamic text prediction will also do away with having to backspace or delete mistakes.

Currently in prototype phase, there's no word on when the AirType will make it to market - you can keep informed of when the future will arrive by signing up to the group's mailing list. That, or you can stick to the same tactile system that's actually served us pretty well for the last 100 years or so.
