Looks like Elon Musk wants to get into comedy now
14 March 2018

Elon Musk, the architect of our future, warner of robots’ murderous nature, marrier of women, father of six, wants to go into comedy.

Yep! Nothing to see here, just a man who’s current projects include Hyperloop (a tunnel through the earth that you jump into to get to the other side really fast, sort of like a more efficient central line), Tesla (an electric car with Back To The Future-style gull wing doors), and an obsession with getting to Mars, perhaps to reunite with his own species, wants to tell us jokes.

Sort of.

Reports from an anonymous source has claimed that Musk has been poaching writers from satirical site The Onion (a website Musk reportedly tried to buy The Onion back in 2015, but the deal never went through) in order to work on a ‘brand new comedy project’ that’s under strict top secret orders. Speaking to The Daily Beast, Musk said “It’s pretty obvious that comedy is the next frontier after electric vehicles, space exploration, and brain-computer interfaces. Don’t know how anyone’s not seeing this.”

Which to be honest, is pretty funny in and of itself, so maybe we’re wrong to be a little skeptical. Perhaps the space exploration and desire to shuttle us around the world in the fastest possible way was all a long game in order to crack us up with his satirical prowess.

This might change the ongoing debate about whether or not he is evil because you can’t hate anyone that’s making you laugh for too long, can you?

At least, however, this exciting and a little bit scary development means that Musk is open to new ventures outside the tech sector, like, say, an eponymous aftershave range called ‘Musk by Elon Musk’.

We await what’s next with baited breath.
