This is how long you've got to claim your cheap iPhone battery replacement
11 December 2018

In recent years, Apple has managed to swerve the major PR crises that have plagued fellow tech giants, such as Facebook and Twitter. But the most profitable company in the world is by no means without problems of its own.

Last year, in fact, the Cupertino-based company admitted that it had been deliberately slowing battery operations in older iPhones without the consent of its customers.

“We know that some of you feel Apple has let you down. We apologize,” the company said in a statement at the time.

To make amends, Apple dropped the price of out-of-warranty batteries in iPhone 6, 6s, 7 and SE models to just £25.

But you’ll have to get your skates on if you want to make the most of this deal because the £25 batteries will be increasing in price from 31 December, 2018.

“Through December 31, 2018, the out-of-warranty battery service fee is £25 for all eligible iPhone 6 or later models,” Apple says on its website. “After December 31, 2018, the fee will change to £45 for all these products except iPhone X which will change to £65.”

And even if your battery is A-okay at the minute, it might be worth your while getting a replacement now before the price increases.

It’s also worth noting that the deal only applies once per iPhone, so you can’t grab another battery if it’s already been replaced.
