Apollo Moon Boot Trainers

It was one small step for man, and one giant leap for mankind.

And Neil Armstrong did it whilst wearing some seriously funky footwear, complimenting his dapper spacesuit perfectly.

Now Los Angeles-based shoe company Android Homme have decided to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the 1969 moon landing by teaming up with flash sale site JackThreads and General Electric - who created the footwear used on that very mission - to make an everyday moon boot.

Yes, that means you and I can (essentially) wear the same kicks as Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin.

They've been nicknamed 'The Missions' and feature large carbon fibre support, a water-resistant coating, thermoplastic molded ankle collars and outsoles, as well as 3M reflective materials and overlays in metallic silver. All this is topped off with embossed "1969"s along the heel panels.

Just 100 pairs of the shoes will be available for sale through JackThreads on Sunday at 4:18 ET - the same time as the original Lunar Module touched down - and they'll set you back (of course) $196.90 (£115).

Now all we need to do is save up for that rocket and we can golfing on the moon like Neil and Buzz.
