Saucony – the little brother-in-earnest of New Balance, with original silhouettes, sturdy mid-soles, literally endless colorways and a natural toe-splay (aka “the end of the shoe is wider than other trainers meaning that your delicate lil’ toes won’t get all scrunched up”) only without the premium NB price-tag – have gone and fucken done it again.
Updating one of its most-loved styles with a new knitted construction, the American brand have brought extra breathability to the table, and with contrasting sand and black colourways, have got your back at both ends of the panic attack spectrum:
The black-and-grey camo-ish knit with off-black suede will look better and better as it ages, like Paul Rudd. The sand colourway, with virginal two-tone cream suede with off-white knitting, will start well but eventually devolve into despair, like Paul Konchesky.
(There’s also a grey colourway that’s nice but not quite as nice and I couldn’t think of a funny Paul joke to work with it.)
Anyway, take your pick.
